The song was written and recorded during sessions for her scrapped third album concept in early 2015. On the day of the session Noonie Bao posted a tweet with a photo saying she was working with all the collaborators for this song.[1] It's speculated to be a demo for Rihanna.
The track is rumored to have been reworked in 2020, however, this version remains unleaked.
On October 9, 2016, the full demo produced by Yung Gud leaked in low quality.[2] On January 22, 2018, a 13-second snippet of the demo produced by Yung Gud leaked in high quality.[3] On August 23, 2018, the demo produced by Yung Gud leaked in high quality. On December 12, 2020, a 26-second snippet of the demo produced by umru leaked.[4] On January 26, 2021, the demo produced by StarGate and an a capella of the song leaked.[5][6]
